Better Letters of Note

Dear all,

It gives me untold amounts of pleasure to announce that the Letters of Note website has been given its first facelift since I naively launched it in 2009 using a bog-standard Blogger template. I would like to thank, profusely but from a very safe distance, the patient team of wizards over at Automattic for delicately moving 11-years-worth of letters over to WordPress.com and making everything look and feel lovely. I shall be eternally grateful. I am so upbeat about this new website that I am seriously considering re-opening comments, 9 years after closing them in a fit of rage; however, for now, please do take a look around and get in touch by email or post or on social media with any feedback you may have.

This long overdue rebirth has been timed to coincide with the launch of the first six titles in the gorgeous new series of themed Letters of Note books, pictured below, all of which are now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook form (availability and formats will differ in countries outside of the UK). All being well (which it currently isn’t, obviously), the next six titles will surface early next year.

Above: Look! Six new books!

Other sections of this new website will launch at a later date. For now, though, fresh content will begin to appear a few times each week, just like the old days. I’ve also started recording a podcast in my attic, surrounded by moths. It will be called Letters of Note: Recorded Delivery, and you will be able to listen to it and wince in the coming months.

Finally, please head over to Letters Live. We’ve just launched a campaign called #ReadALetter, and we’d love for you to get involved.

Yours in lockdown,
Shaun
